I take a lot of photographs, not as many as I’d like and I wouldn’t say it was my life, it is an incredibly big part of my life, an accessory to my life I suppose. Like a Westwood brooch on a blazer, except a lot more important and probably less expensive. 
I am inspired by photographers with an intimate style. I constantly come across work that astounds me.

i am fond of both documentary and fashion based photography my inspirations are nan goldin, ellen von unwerth, fergus padel and various other fashion photographers with a sense of style, retro sensibility and intimate portrayals of human nature. my images focus on my relationships with the sitter be them friends, lovers or complete strangers. i like to observe and focus on their gaze, posture and surroundings as well as placing them into mine. 

my weapons of choice are the bronica etrsi, pentax mx, polaroid sx-70 and by crappy digital slr for snapshots. i mostly shoot fuji pro160s, kodak epp 100, kodak bw400cn or anything else i have spare in the bottom of my bag.I am usually, almost always in fact terrible at introductions. I stumble with words, or say stupid things or mostly just look at the ground. I always find those moments of the unknown hard to handle, I don’t know you and you don’t know me. I don’t like it at all.

As a throwback to youth, and a rebellion against never being allowed to have a pretty doll as a child (mostly due to my having a penis.) I am now fascinated by Blythe dolls, and think they’re incredibly sweet looking, giant headed, clickey eyed, plastic objects. I own two and I’ll probably let you see them at some point.

I also collect urban vinyl toys.

I’m incredibly fond of Jon Waters movies, mostly for their combination of Divine, Ricki Lake, 50’s style ‘trashequette’ and large smears of innuendo.

I also love Bette Davis, and any movie she appears in. I prefer old movies if I’m honest, to modern ones. There’s just something about the style, and the feel and the leading ladies that our generation and society seems to really lack these days.

My favourite types of music are electro, indie and tweepop. I like anything with reoccurring ‘baa’ sounds, handclaps, or electric beeps. Or anything that makes me dance like a twat, I judge my nights out by how much my feet hurt the next day not by how drunk I was, but if I do get drunk Malibu and coke is my drink of choice.

I like to think I’m a pretty sharp dresser, but really I wear shoes that make my feet look pointed and clothes that are far too tight and cost too much for what they are. I have an obsession with coats and own far too many, nearly all of them are double breasted with epaulets, it’s a habit.
